Steal Your Face

Silver inlay for a Jerry Garcia sculpture

A silver inlay brings the Grateful Dead’s Steal Your Face motif to the guitar headstock of Garcia, a sculpture by Jacqueline Popovic. My contribution is the silver inlay.

Etched, carved, and darkened

Acid etching and hand carving define the image. A liver-of-sulfur finish adds contrast to the silver surface, making the recessed details more legible.
